New Doctor

Bradford & I had our first appointment with our Maternal Fetal Medicine Doctor today (basically the specialist for pregnancy). It was INCREDIBLE. We got to see baby girl on a regular (but more high tech) sonogram and also 3D. We got to hear her heartbeat for the first time. She is QUITE the little wiggle worm dancer! She was rolling over, upside down— all the things. She has long little legs. They scanned her for her spine, brain, stomach, neck, blood flow, umbilical cord, nasal bone, etc. Everything looked perfect. Today’s scan ruled out 50% of generic abnormalities. At 22 weeks we will do a fetal echocardiogram to scan her heart. If you recall, Bradford was born with a heart defect, but it’s not genetic and our doctor isn’t any more worried than the risk to any other pregnancy.

Her little profile is adorable— and it’s just down right incredible we are able to see her so clearly when she’s only the size of a small lime!

It’s finally starting to feel more real and more normal. That said, I have two friends who are currently on their egg retrieval journey and another who is awaiting the results of her one little miracle egg. Y’all have been incredible positivity and prayer warriors for Bradford and I. If you have a moment and could say a little prayer for these families, I would greatly appreciate it, too!

She was moving so much it was hard to catch her still for these pics. The video and watching it in real life was obviously much clearer, but these will have to do for now. Just know she’s already cute as can be.

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

I'm Courtney, and this is my fertility journey to baby Z. We're 16 months in, and will be beginning IUI in March 2021. Writing has always been therapeutic to me, and after sharing my story on FB it was suggested for me to begin a blog. It's my hope that this blog can help you through your infertility journey, or help you help someone you love through theirs. Thanks for being here.

Let the posts
come to you.
